Great event at Shildon

The tribute to Mike Amos was opened today at the Locomotion Museum, Shildon, by Councillor Henry Nicholson,  and life long acquaintance of Mike Amos.  Also in attendance was the recently appointed Chairman of Durham County and Mayor of the City of Durham,   Councillor Edward Bell, another long standing acquaintance of Mike.  Both spoke warmly of their memories of him.   Thanks to Morpeth FC who brought along the FA Vase which they won at Wembley last month, and to Shildon AFC who have put both the Northern League Winner’s Trophy and Northern League Challenge Cup on display in the Museum.   About 40 people attended the opening and viewed the exhibition, which will now run to the end of June during normal opening hours of the Museum.
