Celebrating National Sporting Heritage Day

On Saturday 2 October, the Trust held its first exhibition for two years at the King James 1 Academy at Bishop Auckland.  It was good to see some of our older  visitors reminiscing while our younger visitors were learning a little about the history of amateur football in the area and enjoying some craft activities.     The Academy community team provided great refreshments for the visitors.

Peter Clark led the community singing prior to watching the highlights of the 1954 FA Amateur Cup final, Bishop Auckland v Crook,  which went to two replays before Crook won at Ayresome Park, Middlesbrough.                                   Examples of craft work by young visitors.
